Challenge

The commission started from Attendize, an open-source ticketing codebase that had gone unmaintained and needed to be made operational again. The client needed their own ticket sales and event management platform, but the chosen Attendize codebase had gone unmaintained and was too broken to launch in production. The existing project had to be recovered, its ticketing functionality preserved and the infrastructure made stable enough to handle live events and real payments.

Solution

Repair and adapt Attendize instead of rebuilding the whole product, containerise deployment with Docker, configure the VPS and HTTPS with Certbot, and extend registration for nightclub and event managers.

Work delivered

A repaired Attendize codebase, Docker environment, configured VPS and certificate, Stripe payments, adapted manager registration and ongoing technical maintenance.

Outcome

GetYourTicket remains in production and has managed more than 10 events, each with over 1,000 attendees.

Project highlights

• Recovered an unmaintained codebase by fixing errors that prevented the platform from operating normally.
• Set up Docker, the VPS and the HTTPS certificate with Certbot to get the system running in production.
• Adapted registration for new nightclub and event managers and integrated payments with Stripe.
• Continue to maintain the platform and resolve issues as new events are added.
